Our school

1E Ora e Veglia - Borgo Valsugana (IT)

When the teachers of class 1 E of the Comprehensive Institute "Ora e Veglia" in Borgo Valsugana (Trentino, Italy) asked the students which element of their daily life they wanted to tell their peers on the other side of the border (and of the screen) , they had no doubts: they wanted to tell about their school. Starting from a reflection made with some teachers on the differences between the different countries in the school systems - from the timetable to the subjects taught, from meals to sport - the students established that telling about their life at school was the best way to be know. Between differences and similarities, for children everywhere, school is a fundamental component, if only in terms of time commitment. The path that led to the creation of the video below took the first steps from the contents that we wanted to tell, and therefore from the structure of the narration. What struck them about their time at school, what they appreciate, what they would prefer to do differently, were the objects of the texts written in Italian, then translated into English. Starting from these texts, then, the students were guided in the drafting of a storyboard which served as a tool for the editing of the final video. Students and teachers made the appropriate shots used in the video. Finally, as the soundtrack they chose some songs in Creative Commons, after having received indications on the rules that determine the use of original products according to usage licenses.

Enjoy!
